Bitumen is a black viscous mixture of hydrocarbons obtained naturally such us rock asphalt or natural bitumen, and as a residue from petroleum distillation, which is referred to as petroleum bitumen. Petroleum bitumen is typically referred to as bitumen or asphalt. It is used for road surfacing and roofing.
